On July 20, 1969 two spacecraft landed in the Sea of Tranquility,
one from the most powerful nation on earth, the United States, the other from the smallest, the Duchy of Grand Fenwick.
Aided by loan money ear-marked for space travel research, the small Duchy of Grand Fenwick attempts to fly to the moon using wine as a propellant.
This comedy adapts The Mouse on the Moon novel to a two-act community theatre stage play. As the book was released when Mercury was still the spacecraft of NASA, it predates the Apollo flights to the moon. The premise of the adaptation is, what if the Duchy of Grand Fenwick did launch their rocket to the moon at the same time as Apollo 11?
